Come join us on this wonderful trip to the New England area- see the historical sights that made Boston so famous in American history and spend time in beautiful Cape Cod exploring the enchanting islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket! Three nights in Boston and four nights on the Cape…..time to see and do so much!

Take a fun ‘Duck” tour in Boston as well as a walking tour, visit the Old North Church, view Paul Revere’s  home, take the Boston Movie Mile Tour and free time to explore or walk the Freedom Trail, take a ride on the Swan Boats, shop along Newbury Street or go to the top of the Prudential Tower for a panoramic view of the city.  Don’t forget to shop at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall Marketplace!  It is a treat!

We’ll have a guided tour of Plymouth, see the famous Plymouth Rock and America’s ‘hometown’ on our way to Hyannis on Cape Cod.  The ‘Cape’ has 15 towns as well as the two famous islands you hear a lot about-Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard –which we explore!  See what is so enchanting about the ‘Cape’ from tip to tip including Provincetown, as well as the two islands and we get to enjoy a dune ride that features a Sunset Clam Bake- a fabulous way to end our vacation – watch a gorgeous sunset while you sit on the beach and feast on a traditional clambake featuring New England clam chowder, steamed clams/mussels, steamed lobster, red bliss potatoes and corn on the cob!  A perfect ending to a great vacation………….

SUNDAY, JUNE 15, 2008                 Boston

Welcome to the historic capital of Massachusetts – Boston – where American history comes to life on every corner.  You will arrive at Logan International Airport and then make your way to the Midtown Hotel (5 miles from Logan) and located in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood. From the hotel you can walk to the Prudential Center, Copley Place, Newbury Street shops and cafes, Symphony Hall, the Theatre District and a multitude of fine dining establishments.

Tonight a welcome dinner will get us all acquainted and it’s a great way to get the week started! (D)

 

MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2008                Boston

            After breakfast at the hotel we’ll meet our guide in the lobby to begin our day of exploring. There is no better way to begin your tour of Boston than on a Duck Tour.  As you drive through the city your “ConDUCKtor will be giving you lots of little known facts, legends and interesting insights.  You will view diverse forms of architecture, historic landmarks and the highlight of the tour is your ‘splash’ into the Charles River for a breathtaking waterside view of Boston.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore on your own. Walk the Freedom Trail, take a ride on the Swan Boats, shop along Newbury Street or go to the top of the Prudential Tower for a panoramic view of the city.

Dinner is at leisure tonight….maybe a local restaurant with new friends from the group. (B)

 

TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 2008               Boston

            After breakfast you have free time to do what you want to see and do- discover the city on your own or meet your guide in the lobby to travel the Green Line (subway system) to the historic North End. Here you will visit the Old North Church, view Paul Revere’s home and walk the narrow main streets filled with pastry and wine shops, gelaterias, ristorantes, trattorias and more… also you have to shop at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall Marketplace.

This afternoon you could visit one of Boston’s great museums – The Museum of Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum or the New England Aquarium.  Lots to see and do! (B)

 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2008         Boston-Plymouth-Cape Cod

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and meet our bus which will drop us off in downtown Boston for a fun-filled morning of touring. Venture out on Boston’s Movie Mile Tour – here you will enjoy learning about the movies and television shows that have been filmed in over 30 locations in the city.

After the tour we head south to America’s hometown – Plymouth. You will stop at the Forefather’s Monument, the Plymouth Rock and at the Mayflower II. Walk along the historic waterfront area and have free time for lunch and shopping.

Continue on to the sandy shores of Cape Cod. Your guide will assist with check-in at the Holiday Inn Hyannis. Relax and freshen up before dinner tonight in a local restaurant.  (B,D)

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 2008                        Cape Cod-Martha’s Vineyard

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel to escort you to the Hy-Line Docks for ticketing and boarding of the high speed ferry to the storybook island of Matha’s Vineyard. Upon arrival you will board a local bus for a Down Island Tour.  Learn about the history of the island as you travel throughout the townships. There will be free time for lunch and shopping in Edgartown. View the gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs before you return to Hyannis on the late afternoon ferry.

Dinner is on your own tonight. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel for you to enjoy. (B)

 

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2008                  Cape Cod-Nantucket

            After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your lodging to escort you to the Hy-Line Docks for ticketing and boarding of the high speed ferry to the stunning island of Nantucket. Upon arrival your guide will point out the shops, museums and restaurants that are within walking distance of the dock area for your time on your own. Enjoy a one hour narrated Nantucket Island Tour at a time to be specified by your guide. (Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes as the streets and sidewalks are lined with bricks and cobblestones). You will have free time for lunch and shopping. Depart on the late afternoon ferry for your return trip to Hyannis.

Dinner with friends from the group tonight is at your leisure. (B)

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2008                        Cape Cod-Provincetown-Sunset Clam Bake

Breakfast at the hotel and then the morning is free for you to enjoy the pool or perhaps do some last minute shopping or exploring. Grab a quick bite to eat for lunch before your afternoon tour.

This afternoon our guide will meet us at the hotel for our last day of touring together. Today you will explore the real Cape Cod as you wind along scenic Route 6A. This is a beautiful road filled with wonderful examples of colonial life – architecture, village greens, churches, windmills, peeks of Cape Cod Bay and more…

            We’ll stop at the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center and will view a lighthouse. As you journey to “Land’s End” – Provincetown- you will be surrounded by sand dunes and the ocean. “P-town” is a unique destination with a rich history that combines a love of the sea and the arts. You will have free time to explore the waterfront and the narrow main streets that are filled with an eclectic variety of shops, galleries and restaurants.

Today’s highlight is a Dune Ride that features a Sunset Clam Bake- what a fun way to end our vacation – watch a gorgeous sunset while you sit on the beach and feast on a traditional clambake featuring New England clam chowder, steamed clams/mussels, steamed lobster, red bliss potatoes and corn on the cob!  A perfect ending to a great vacation…  (B, D)

 

SUNDAY, JUNE 22, 2008

After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to check-out and depart from Cape Cod with wonderful memories of our vacation to historic Massachusetts. The bus will take you to Boston’s Logan airport…. please don’t make your flight departures from the airport until after 1pm. (B)

Airfare is additional: You can fly roundtrip into and out of Boston.  You can arrive at anytime June 15, but make sure you get to the hotel in time for the evening get together and dinner. For your flight home on June 22, make your departure flight after 1pm as the transfer will have you at the airport by late morning. We’ll need your flight schedule asap. 

Transfers to/from the airport: On arrival, you can make your way to the hotel a short distance from the airport. For your departure flight, we will drop you off at the airport late morning, June 22, so please make your flights departure time after 1pm.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended and information is available-please inquire.

Price does not include: items of a personal nature, airfare, tips to drivers and local guides-i.e. the conDUCKtor guide, local island guides, etc. (so please plan accordingly), travel insurance, and alcoholic beverages.

Payments:   Deposit is $200 with your reservation. Final payments  Due 60 days prior to departure. Payments by credit card or check-

make checks payable to Travel Advisors of Los Gatos. Cancellation Fees and Refunds: All cancellations must be in writing.  Regardless of when you cancel there will be a charge from Singles Travel Company of $50.  Insurance is non-refundable.  Cancellation Fees as follows: Cancel 61 days or more prior to the trip-full refund of deposit minus $50 cancellation fee.  No refund for cancellation 60 days or less prior to trip.  No refunds on unused portions of the tour.  Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved pre and post.   After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy, usually no refund, changeable with a fee.
