Prague, Czech Republic, the “City of a Thousand Spires," is rich with history, art, culture and shopping. Visit the Old Town, Wenceslas Square, and the romantic Charles Bridge.

Vienna, Austria is the city of the Waltz and home to the lavish Hofburg Palace and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Time to visit the famous Schönbrunn Palace.

Budapest, Hungary is the “The Paris of the East”, exotic and cosmopolitan, and spans the banks of the Danube. The ancient city of Buda and the more modern Pest are filled with fine architectural treasures.  This city is so picturesque!

Itinerary

 

Day 1, Thur Sep 11                            Your flight from your hometown to Munich
                  Board your overnight transatlantic flight to begin your vacation!

Day 2, Fri Sep 12                    Arrival in Munich, Germany
               Depending on your flight arrival time, time to rest or to start exploring this fascinating Bavarian capital!  At 6 p.m. meet your Tour Director and fellow traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel. Then enjoy the local atmosphere after dinner as you get to know new friends from the group. (D)

Day 3, Sat Sep 13                   Munich-Prague, Czech Republic
            After breakfast, you’ll have an orientation tour of Germany’s “secret capital” which features the Olympic Stadium, 1,000-foot-high Television Tower, and Marienolatz in the historic heart of the city. Later, we’ll head for the Czech border in the Bohemian Forest and travel to Prague, the “Golden City.” How about an optional Czech folklore show tonight? (BB,D)

                 

Day 4, Sun Sep 14                   Prague
            This m
orning our sightseeing with a local guide reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most attractive capitals. See 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Cathedral (on Sundays no inside guiding permitted), the Old Town, the Jewish ghetto, and the Astronomical Clock which was  

Astronomical Clock in Pragueonce the envy of all Europe.

Your afternoon is at leisure; you may want to mix with the locals in Wenceslaus Square or relax at an outdoor restaurant. This evening why not join an optional dinner outing or enjoy the local cuisine with friends from the group? (BB)

              

Day 5, Mon Sep 15                 Prague–Bratislava, Slovakia–Budapest

Budapest, Hungary      
            This morning we venture into Moravia where Napoleon established his headquarters during the Battle of Austerlitz and around lunchtime you reach Bratislava, the economic and political center of Slovakia.

This afternoon we follow the course of the Danube River to wonderful Budapest! (BB,D)

 

Day 6, Tue Sep 16                  Budapest                   

            Today, your local guide takes you through Eastern Europe's most cosmopolitan city-Budapest. See elegant Andrassy Avenue, the Thermal Baths, and the world's second-largest Jewish Synagogue. From the lacy lookout towers of Fishermen’s Bastion enjoy a panoramic view of this sprawling, historical city. Then visit the 13th-century Matthias Coronation Church and Heroes’ Square.

            Your afternoon is free to continue exploring this city. Maybe visit the Central Market Hall for 2 floors of local food, clothes and shopping for all kinds of goods!  Tonight a delectable optional Hungarian specialty dinner can be arranged. (BB)

     

Day 7, Wed Sep 17                 Budapest–Vienna

Vienna, Austria 

       This morning drive through the Hungarian plains to Vienna, once the center of the mighty Habsburg Empire. Meet your local guide and start your afternoon sightseeing with vistas of Prater Park

Prater Park Ferris Wheel with its giant Ferris wheel, and the United Nations City on the banks of the Danube River. Then drive along Ring Boulevard, pass the State Opera House, the Jewish quarter, and stop at the Hofburg Palace, winter residence of the Austrian Imperial family. Marvel at the impressive courtyards and famous Heldenplatz and visit awesome St. Stephen’s Cathedral. (BB)

Day 8, Thur Sep 18                 At Leisure in Vienna   
            A whole day at leisure gives you the opportunity to join exciting optional excursions or ‘do your own thing’ with others from the group.  Maybe see the Vienna Woods, enjoy a concert, or just explore this magnificent city and see what you want to see in beautiful Vienna!

Take time to see historic Schönbrunn Palace which is a significant cultural monument and very popular Viennese attraction and one of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. The complex is one of the finest examples of Baroque art and includes not only the palace but a large garden, park, hill and statues.  (BB)

 

Day 9, Fri Sep 19                    Vienna–Melk

Austria–Salzburg    

A scenic day! From Krems we’ll enjoy a leisurely Danube Cruise to Weissenkirchen. Continue by coach along the Danube to historic Melk, home to the famous Benedictine abbey of Melk and another one of Europe´s better displays of Baroque architecture. This quaint and lovely town, with its’ small town center, is like a story book that has come to life and it gives you a look into past centuries.

Moving on, you’ll find no landscape is more typically Austrian than the Sound of Music lakeland of the Salzkammergut. Then pass lovely Lake Wolfgang on your way via Bad Ischl to Salzburg where we’ll be spending the night. (BB,D)

 

Day 10, Sat Sep 20                             Salzburg–Munich, Germany                  

            A pleasant stroll with a local guide takes you through the historical center of Salzburg, where you can admire exquisite Mirabell Gardens

Austria, the Great Festival Hall, St. Peter’s Churchyard, and the monumental Domplatz. Also visit Mozart’s Birthplace in the charming Getreidegasse

Austria.

A comfortable drive brings you back to Munich where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and, as a finale to this exciting vacation, you may want to enjoy a stein of beer at the famous Hofbräuhaus. (BB,D)

 

Day 11, Sun Sep 21                    Homeward Bound    
            Morning transfers to the Munich airport for your homebound flight today if you have bought the tours airport transfers, otherwise make your way to the airport on your own before your flight. (BB)

$1849.00     land only, per person, based on double occupancy. (On this particular trip we’ll assist in finding a roommate, restrictions apply-call for complete details)

Airfare is additional. You need to fly into and out of Munich, Germany.

 

Airport transfers are $20 each way ($40 roundtrip). You must arrive and depart the Munich airport between 6am and 3pm on days of the tour only to be able to get these transfers.  We will need your flight information by final payment due date to confirm transfers.

 

$119.00  +$30         Travel/Trip Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Get Travel Protection Plus for
an additional $30.  This additional benefit allows you to cancel your vacation up to 24 hours (or the prior business day, whichever is farther out) before your scheduled departure for any reason not covered by the travel protection plans provisions. With this Protection Plus policy you will be reimbursed for the cancellation penalties with travel vouchers
to be used within a year with the tour operator. You must purchase it with your deposit if you want a waiver for pre-
existing conditions and Travel Protection Plus.  Insurance is not refundable.  Your air is not covered under this policy.

 

Price does not include: items of a personal nature, passports or visas, any phone calls, tips and gratuities to drive and guides as well as local guides, and meals not mentioned in itinerary.

 

A valid passport is required for U.S. travelers and should be valid up to 6 months after the trip.  Non-U.S. citizens must check with their local consulates.

 

This is a Special Trip Offering: This trip is in response to a lot of our singles asking us to do a few great trips open to everyone, not just singles.  However, we are sending Singles Travel Representatives on most of the “not just singles” trips this year as we expect a lot of singles to sign up for them. Fine Print Prague-Vienna-Budapest September 11-21, 2008

         Your payment for a reservation on this trip constitutes consent and acknowledgement of all the provisions in this Fine Print listed below and in the Singles Travel Company General Terms and Conditions.  Please make sure you read both of these important pieces of information and call us with any questions.

 

Payments:     A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is due with your reservation and your insurance is due also if you want to purchase it.   Full and final payments are due 70 days prior to departure date.  Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express) and /or checks (payable to Travel Advisors) are accepted.

 

Cancellation Fees and Refunds:

     All cancellations must be in writing.  Regardless of when you cancel there will be a charge from Singles Travel Company of $50.  Also insurance is non-refundable.

 Cancellation Fees as follows:

From deposit to 91 days prior to commencement of services  Full refund minus insurance & $50 service fee

90-57 days prior to commencement of services     Loss of deposit and insurance & $50 service fee

56-29 days prior to commencement of services     50% of total price & insurance & $50 service fee

28-15 days prior to commencement of services     75% of total price & insurance & $50 service fee

Within 14 days of departure         100% of total price & insurance & $50 service fee

 

No refunds on unused portions of the tour.  A fee of $30 per transaction may be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.  Cancellation fees also apply to additional accommodations reserved prior to and after the tour booked with the tour operator of the trip.   After airline tickets are issued, airline cancellations are per the airline’s policy/ and or the tour operator if purchased through the tour operator. Per our tour operator, hotels are always subject to change.
